Rate "Punisher: War Zone"

Very fun action movie, and also very true to the Punisher mythos, definitely more so than the 2004 movie. I enjoyed this a hell of a lot more than the 2004 version, and loved the gore & action. I'd give it an 8/10. Sure, the plot is paper thin, but since when isn't it in the Punisher books?

6/10. Very fun movie, and very well-made for a b-movie. This is one film that uses gratuitous violence to its advantage. Also has a nice use of lighting, and a man that fits the role of The Punisher perfectly.

Stevenson is definitely the best Punisher to date. He looks like a real life Punisher, a guy who is on a mission who won't stop & just lives to kick ass.

this movie was better than it had any right to be. Ray Stevenson IS Frank Castle. Got such a huge kick out of it, just insanely fun entertainment.

I didn't like it that much. I thought it was a well made B-movie with some nasty violence, but really couldn't stand Dominic West's villain character. I still think that Tom Jane's character was more believable and realistic. The Punisher looked much cooler, I think.

Well, Jane's Punisher may not have been as much of a badass as Stevenson's, but he was much more credible. The 2004 version itself was much more believable than the latest one, even if it was pretty poor as a whole, but the incredibly unrealistic action in War Zone is what made it so fun. It doesn't try to be classy nor plausible, it just tries to be fun.

I think Jane and Stevenson were both pitch perfect as The Punisher, yet I think Jane has the slight, slight edge as far as performances go. But, I've read a couple of the comic books way back when, and Stevenson has uncanny resemblance with some of the illustrations of the comic anti-hero.

Agreed on this. Jane was pretty awesome, in my opinion.

Tom Jane was very good, but he was like the CC version. Ray's was MAX all the way, which is what a character like Punisher should be.
I also loved Dominic West to bits, he was just so brilliantly OTT as Billy/Jigsaw. P:WZ is one of my highlights of 2009.

And I thought it was a nice ending to 2008, and not nearly as bad as people say. I loved West as Jigsaw, very well done even though it was an OTT performance.

C'mon, what's not to love about West's performance as Jigsaw? I thought it was damn good, even if it was quite OTT, and I really liked the design they went with for his disfigurement.

I thought Dominic was absolutely brilliant. All the scenes with Jigsaw and LBJ were priceless.

The only problem I had was that in the comics Jigsaw is supposed to be an excellent fighter, and on par with the Punisher, but in the movie he got his ass kicked.....badly.
