Default Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1/Part 2

I didn't see there is any really point in breaking it up into two different threads, it'd be kind of pointless to create two different threads on it. It has the most potential the most faithful out of the series because it's being broke up into two different points. I want to see how they'll work through some of the stuff, because there were quite a few references to HBP throughout the book, stuff from HBP that they felt wasn't important enough to put in the film.

I was worried at first when I saw that Voldemort wasn't going to be in part I, because he had quite a few appearences in the beginning the book. Hopefully, they'll be able to include the emotional impact from the book.

The two scenes that nearly had me in tears when reading the book was when Dobby died, and the part when Harry was going into the woods to face Voldemort and the ghosts of Sirius, Lupin, James, and Lily showed up. When Harry found out that Lupin and Tonks had died, though, that had me feeling quite sad. Probably because those were two of my favorite characters.
Anyways, when do you think they'll decide to make the cut-off point for Part I?

I still think it should end right when Mr. Lovegood mentions the Deathly Hallows. It seemed the perfect point to me in the book, because the chapter had ended with Mr. Lovegood saying, "Have you ever heard of the Deathly Hallows?" I could imagine credits start rolling right after that.

I knew a few things would be lost as soon as Doby didn't reappear in one of the earlier movies. But still, I agree, I'm curious as to how they're really going to make an impacting movie without most of these elements. The final movies are based off of the final book after all- you can't end the Harry Potter movies with a boring hike in the woods and a quick fight scene. This is their last chance to thrill Harry Potter fans and a lot of money could be pulled in if they pull it off. I hope they know what they're doing.

It does make sense to break them up. For one thing, there's WAY too much stuff to cut out, as they have to wrap it all up. There would be NO WAY to compact it all in a two hour movie.

Also, 2 more movies always means more money, right?

I hate that they're breaking it up. Really ticks me off, but honestly maybe it is needed. I don't think people can sit and watch such a long movie in one shot, haha.

I thought it was a great idea to break the two up. Me and my friends are in constant debate on when the cut-off point should be.

I personally think it should be when Ron leaves.

... but I can't quite remember what point of the book that is... it's been a while since I read it.

The only sense it makes by cutting it up is that they will earn big bucks of it. I mean the last movie they deleted the best scenes and put a scene in where deadeaters light up the house of Ron. Stupid in my eyes.

I know there's a detail that they forgot in Order of the Pheonix
( Click to show/hide )
when Kreacher was cleaning and stole a heavy locket which was carelessly mentioned in one sentence.
I mean, that was a clue and they didn't put that in the movie!

Also, I don't know where the first part should end because it would be a cliffhanger, no matter what!

Even when it cuts it off it will suck. They will probably stop it where it leaves you pissed cause you want to know what happened. That would probably be the worst thing for us, but best for them.

of course, because you'll pay to see the next part. That's called a cliff hanger. :O

I can understand getting angry about it, but that's what they'll do. Just like at the end of Pirates 2 - cut it off at such a part where all you can say is "What the-!?" and you'll HAVE to pay the 8 some dollars for a movie ticket because you want to know what happens next.

Us humans and our curiosity! How it's worked against us so!

I am so excited about this that it's not even humourous. Alright, maybe it IS a little bit funny.
