Rate "Duel" out of 10.

I gave it an 8. It was really well directed, acted and written - I thought it would be longwinded and repetetive, but it managed to keep me interested the whole time. The ending could leave you a bit confused, but the antagonist was really well depicted.

Eight for me as well. An awesome film. A few of the scenes--such as the diner scene--capture the main character's sense of paranoia perfectly creating an unrelenting tension. I also love how the antagonist remains in the shadows for the entire film, keeping the viewer wondering.

I thought it was pretty great. I loved how they seemed to keep the suspsense up throughout the whole movie. I think upon re-watches I could like it even more than I already do. I still think most of Spielberg's other films are better.

I gave it a 9. This movie is one of Spielberg's best. His first I think. I used to watch it at work all the time. It's surprising how intense it could be when it was so simple. I thought the main actor carried the film really well.

Duel was originally released as a tv movie would you believe.When it got tons of good ratings they decided to turn it into a theatrical release ,the only problem was the length-too short.
Spielburg had to go back and shoot some extra scenes and had to scour the States for a exact same truck used in the tv version as they had wrote that off during the end sequence.
If you watch the scene with the broken down bus you can see that is a different truck , the colours are just a bit off but it does not really matter because it is a great film. 9/10
